About Sarah

Sarah PlayforthSarah Playforth provides training and consultancy in access, diversity and equality, underpinned by a deep understanding of the access needs of deaf and disabled people and empathy with people who experience discrimination.

She serves as a Lay Member on Employment Tribunals and has over 30 years experience as a volunteer, Trustee, officer, middle and senior manager in both the statutory and independent sectors, managing and developing public library services and equal access to them. She has been involved for over 40 years in researching, planning, and campaigning for full equality of access and inclusion in society for all.

Sarah is profoundly deaf and uses both spoken English and British Sign Language (BSL); her qualifications are in librarianship, public service management, counselling, relaxation massage therapy, BSL and as a communicator-guide for deafblind people.
